Terms of Use

1. Purpose

These terms set out the conditions for using the Star Notebook app ("the app") provided by Jerry Jung ("we"), and the rights and duties of us and our users.

2. What the app does

• It calculates a Zi Wei Dou Shu (Jamidusu, 紫微斗數) chart on your device from the birth details you enter, and helps you learn the stars and palaces of your chart through cards, lessons and a glossary.
• Today's palace uses a traditional calculation (the flowing day and hour) to show which palace is said to move that day, and leads you to learn about it.
• There are no accounts. Your learning records are stored on your device.

3. Nature and limits of the content

• The content is learning material about a traditional system called Zi Wei Dou Shu (Jamidusu, 紫微斗數). It does not predict or guarantee future events.
• Do not use it as the basis for important decisions about health, money or investments, law, education or careers, or relationships. Please consult qualified professionals for those.
• Today's palace does not read your mind. It only introduces a palace chosen by a traditional calculation, in the form of a question.
• Charts can differ from other apps depending on calculation rules (calendar, leap months, apparent solar time, the Zi hour, transformation and brightness tables). The rules the app uses are shown in Settings.

4. Your commitments

• Use other people's birth details only for your personal learning.
• Do not modify or reverse-engineer the app to harm others, or copy and distribute its content in bulk without permission.

5. Ads and paid features

• The app does not sell any paid items.
• When the app shows ads, some palaces can be opened after watching a rewarded ad.

6. Keeping your records

• Your learning records and charts exist only on your device. They may be lost if you uninstall the app or change devices, so keep a copy with Settings → "Export to a file".
• We cannot restore records on your device for you.

7. Intellectual property

• We hold the rights to the app's card, lesson and glossary text, illustrations and screens. Apart from viewing them for personal learning, you may not copy or distribute them without permission.
• Rights and licenses for the open-source software and data used in the app are listed in Settings → "Open source and data credits".

8. Changes to and suspension of the app

We may change the app or its features. If we stop providing the app, we will announce it in the app in advance.

9. Limitation of liability

• We try to make the content accurate, but traditional interpretations and calculation rules vary between schools, so we do not guarantee a single correct answer.
• To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for the results of decisions you make based on the app's content, except for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence.

10. Personal information

Personal information is processed under the Privacy Policy (available in the app settings and on our website).

11. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we will announce the changes and the effective date in the app at least 7 days in advance (30 days if the change is unfavorable to you).

12. Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes are resolved by the court with jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act of Korea.
